The former Zamalek man took no part in the Belgian side's four league matches as he faced a lengthy lay-off.
Samir had his problem aggravated early in August when he trained normally in order to participate in the 4-1 loss to Standard de Liege, which postponed his comeback.
"I got injured one a week ahead of the season and now I need one more month to get back in action," he told FilGoal.com.
"I wish I had featured for Lierse in the past matches but the injury prevented me from playing. It's really disappointing.
"What I'm trying to do is to overcome the injury as fast as possible and help my team end their losing streak."
Improve
Lierse, owned by Egyptian entrepreneur Maged Sami, lost their first four league matches and now are languishing at the bottom of the table.
"I believe that Lierse will improve soon," Samir said. "The players are still getting used to the Jupiler Pro League.
"What's more, there are too many new arrivals who need time to be blend well with the rest of the team."
Four-time Belgian champions Lierse secured a top-flight promotion last term before going on a summer buying spree to bolster their squad.
Lierse have three Egyptian players at their disposal in Mohamed Abdul-Wahed, Doudi Al-Gabbas and Samir.
