Ajax said last week that the Egyptian striker signed a one-year contract to complete a free-transfer move from Middlesbrough.
However, the English club said on their official website that paperwork of a season-long loan was completed on Wednesday, shortly before the transfer deadline.
Boro's statement is also contradicting to Mido's recent claims that he had terminated his contract with the Yorkshire club by mutual consent.
Mido's initial contract with Boro was due to expire by the summer of 2011, which also marks the end of his current Ajax deal.
The 27-year-old was deemed surplus to the requirements of Boro manager Gordon Strachan, who omitted him from his pre-match program due to lack fitness.
He has yet to be declared fit to play with Ajax, who will kickoff their Champions League campaign against Real Madrid on September 15th.
