The 30-year-old, who has been struggling with fitness problems for years, was snubbed by former Brazil coach Dunga ahead of the 2010 World Cup.

But Dunga's predecessor Menezes believes Ronaldinho is able to get back on the international stage in the coming years.

"Ronaldinho in the national team? I am working towards World Cup 2014. Dinho is not old and won't be for Brazil," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

"His qualities cannot be questioned and his last season at Milan was good, but the previous two or three were poor.

"If he returns to being what he used to then I will call him."
