The Frenchman was furious after Darren Bent scored in the fifth minute of injury time at the Stadium of Light, even though the fourth official's board showed four minutes are to be played.

"Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been charged with using insulting and/or abusive language and behavior amounting to improper conduct," a Premier League statement read.

Wenger accepted the charge and will thus miss his team's Carling Cup tie with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday.
