A CAF spokesman told FilGoal.com on Thursday that Ahli, who slumped to a 1-0 defeat at Kabylie, have been fined $10,000 for protesting against the referee's decision to disallow a Mohamed Shawky goal in the dying minutes.

The defensive midfielder struck with four minutes remaining but his goal was correctly ruled out for offside.

Ahli players rushed towards the linesman in anger to prompt the stadium's stewards to intervene, sparking a mass brawl.

Hossam Ghaly was consequently sent off before being handed a four-match ban by CAF.

The spokesman also said that Kabylie were fined $25,000 after their fans stoned Ahli's bus before the game.

Kabylie qualified for the Champions League semis as Group B leaders with 14 points, six ahead of second-placed Ahli who also booked a last-four berth.

Six-time African champions Ahli will face Tunisian side Esperance while Kabylie will play holders Mazembe of DR Congo in the semis.
