Masri striker Ahmed Daouda has been ruled out of action for a month and a half due to a serious foot injury.

"The medical tests that Daouda underwent indicated he suffered torn ligaments and a metatarsal fracture in his right foot," Masri director Yasser Salem told FilGoal.com.

The prolific hitman sustained the injury in the coastal side's 1-0 loss at Harras Hodoud in the Egyptian Premier League on Monday.

He was hospitalized in no time before going under the knife.

"He underwent surgery on Tuesday morning and is expected to be sidelined for a month and a half," Salem added.

Daouda, 21, has been a key figure in Masri's squad this season, having put in a host of impressive performances.

Masri, who had dismantled their squad in the summer, had a promising start to the season with three victories out of seven matches.

The Port Said outfit have lost twice and drawn in as many games thus far. Now they lie second in the league table with 11 points.
