The North London club is known to have a huge Jewish following and Israeli flags, featuring a blue Star of David on a white background, are often raised in White Hart Lane.

"Flags and banners with appropriate wording would be welcome at the Stadium," read a statement on the club's website.

"But the Police Authorities have advised that those flags showing the Star of David will not be allowed access and may be confiscated.

"Please respect this request."

Last week, Italian police denied any ban on Star of David flags during the game.
