Ahli striker Mohamed Fadl is set for a two-month layoff after suffering a knee problem in Sunday's 1-0 loss at Esperance in the CAF Champions League.

The injury-prone Fadl, who had been doubtful for the game with a calf strain, was introduced as a second-half substitute.

Two days after the match, Ahli announced on their official site that the former Ismaili man will be nursing his injury for around eight weeks.

"Fadl has torn his Knee cartilage and will be out of action for two months," a statement on the Red Devils official website reads.

It's understood that Fadl's injury would have been less serious had he been taken off right after sustaining it.

He's expected to undergo surgery in Germany in the near future.

Now Ahli have four strikers unavailable as Mohamed Talaat, Francis Doe and Osama Hosni are yet to recover from their respective injuries.
