"I thought about moving to Zamalek, especially after Hossam Hassan was appointed as head coach," he told Modern TV.

"But the sacking of the club board caused lack of stability, so I had a change of heart."

Former Zamalek chairman Mamdouh Abbas was relieved of his duties along with his board members after Mortada Mansour's appeal against the legitimacy of the club's previous elections was accepted.

Eid says he's now fully committed to Hodoud, however; he didn't rule out the possibility of joining either Ahli or Zamalek at some point in the future.

"I'm not really sure what I would do if I got a chance to play at either side," the 30-year-old, who came through the youth system of the Whites, said.

"I'm a product of Zamalek's youth ranks and the idea of sealing a return to my boyhood club always appeals to me.

"But on the other hand, playing for Ahli is a great opportunity too."
