Zamalek will have Amr Zaki available for their Egyptian Premier League game against struggling Gaish next week, the team's doctor said on Friday.

The combative striker has been out of action since October 14th when he injured his knee during a friendly game against lower division side Shams.

"Zaki came through today's training session unscathed," doctor Mostafa Al-Monayeri told FilGoal.com.

"He is now ready to return to action."

Zamalek had to do without Zaki when they beat surprise package Police Union 2-0 on Wednesday.

Ahmed Gaafar, who is confined to the bench this season, played as a lone striker but was substituted at halftime after sustaining a head injury.

Coach Hossam Hassan opted to play without a recognized striker in the second half despite the presence of Ivorian frontman Abou Kone on the bench.

His decision bore fruit as lively attacking midfielders Shikabala and Mohamed Ibrahim hardly needed assistance from a striker after bamboozling Police defense with their pace and skills.

Shikabala scored two superb goals either side of the interval to help Zamalek, who won the last of their 11 league titles in 2004, leapfrog Police into the table's summit.

Zaki has made a fine start to the season after ending a disappointing loan spell at English side Hull City. He has scored three league goals so far this term.

Zamalek will be looking to maintain their league leadership when they visit Gaish on Thursday.

Farouk Gaafar's Gaish are third from bottom in the table after a poor run.
