Ismaili captain Mohamed Hommos will not feature against Zamalek in Wednesday's league match because he is going on a pilgrimage to Mecca.

"He has already booked the ticket and should set off on November 8th (Monday)," Ismaili assistant coach Ahmed Kenawi told FilGoal.com.

"We gave him the all-clear to travel because he couldn't postpone his flight."

Veteran midfielder Hommos has been plying his trade at the coastal club since 1997. He came through the Dervishes' youth ranks too.

The 31-year-old has been a regular starter at Ismaili over the past years but he's better known for the headed winner he scored in Egypt's memorable 1-0 win over Italy in the 2009 FIFA Confederations Cup.

Ismaili striker Mohamed Mohsen Abou-Greisha has also been ruled out of the Cairo trip due to an abdominal muscle tear.

Nigerian hitman Ndubuisi Godwin Eze was declared fit after overcoming a calf strain.
