Ismaili schemer Abdullah Al-Saied believes he was excluded from this month's friendly between Egypt and Australia because of the costal side's string of unsatisfying results in the Egyptian Premier League.

"I think Ismaili's poor run of form is the reason why many of the club's players were overlooked," he told FilGoal.com.

"We need to redeem ourselves in order to see more of us representing Egypt. That's what I'm hoping for now."

Egypt coach Hassan Shehata named three Ismaili players for the Australia meeting in Mohamed Sobhi, Ahmed Samir and Amr Al-Sulaya. The match takes place on Wednesday.

The Dervishes, who lie ninth in the league table with 13 points, have barely maintained consistency in their domestic campaign so far this season, having lost four matches out of nine.
