Amer was appointed as Ittihad coach following the departure of Brazilian tactician Carols Cabral, who handed in his resignation in the wake of a league defeat at ENPPI.
Controversial defender Ibrahim Saied boycotted Ittihad's training two months ago for falling out with Cabral, before announcing the termination of his deal with the club by mutual consent.
But Amer's first decision at the helm was talking the 31-year-old into returning to the coastal side.
"Mohamed Amer called me and I will be back in training starting Wednesday," Saied told FilGoal.com.
"I'm totally ready for a comeback because I have been training separately."
Cabral kept Saied on the sidelines during several league games, which prompeted a verbal jousting between both men.
Saied's childish antics on and off the pitch brought him heavy criticism from Egyptian media during the past 10 years and eventually cost him a place in Egypt’s squad.
His antics ranged from provoking Zamalek fans when he played for arch-rivals Ahli and vice versa to touching an opponent inappropriately during a scuffle in a league game.
However, the former Ismaili man is confident that he will hit top form in no time.
"I'm sure I will be at my best right away and Ittihad will roar back to form too," Saied added.
Ittihad are now languishing in the league table 14th place with nine points.
