Zamalek interim chairman Galal Ibrahim suspected that Mahmoud Fathallah had signed for another club, in wake of the defender's refusal to pen a contract extension at the Cairo club.

Fathallah, whose current contract with Zamalek runs out by the end of the season, should have signed a new deal at the White Knights within the past few days.

However, he decided to postpone the contract signature for no apparent reason.

"We have our doubts, we think he might have signed for another club," Ibrahim told Egyptian radio.

"(Head coach) Hossam Hassan asked him directly whether he signed for another side but the player didn't reply.

"I'm really upset with his attitude. Renewing his contact is our priority but he doesn't appreciate that fact."

Last month, the 28-year-old revealed that he had been approached by Gulf clubs, admitting that the offers appeal to him.

Zamalek, on the other hand, have been suffering a financial crunch for quite a while.
