Ahmed Hassan and Geddo have been excluded from the African Player of the Year Award shortlist but were nominated along with Alain Dioko for the African-based Player of the Year.

Egypt and Ahli duo Hassan and Geddo were both added to CAF's 10-man list for the prestigious accolade but none of them had an ample chance of making the shortlist amid the likes of Chelsea star Didier Drogba, Inter Milan marksman Samuel Eto'o and Sunderland's Asamoah Gyan.

Both Egyptians were included in CAF's three-man list for the African-based Player of the Year Award alongside TP Mazembe ace Dioko.

On the other hand, Egypt's highly-decorated tactician Hassan Shehata was shortlisted for the Coach of the Year Award. Lamine N'Diaye of TP Mazembe and former Ghana boss Milovan Rajevac are nominated too.
