Sayed Moawad, Shehab Ahmed and Amir Sayoud handed Ahli's interim coach Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Shafi 'Zizo' a timely boost after returning to training on Saturday.

"The trio took part in training today after recovering from their injuries," the club said on their official website.

Highly-rated central midfielder Shehab has been out of action since spraining his ankle few minutes after scoring the equalizer in Ahli's 1-1 Egyptian Premier League draw at lowly Gouna on November 9.

Ahli also sorely missed the presence of influential left-back Sayed Moawad, whose hamstring injury forced former coach Hossam Al-Badri and his successor Zizo to field several players out of position.

Algerian playmaker Sayoud rarely played under Al-Badri but was likely to get more chances following the arrival of Ahli great Zizo.

Ahli are enduring a disappointing run that saw them lose 3-1 to bitter foes Ismaili before being held to a 1-1 draw by promoted Smouha.

Zizo made his debut against Smouha but missed several key players, including Egyptian internationals Moawad and Ahmed Hassan.

Defending champions Ahli, who still have three games in hand, lie fifth in the league table with 19 points.
