Zamalek youngster Ahmed Tawfik made an EGP 10,000 contribution to help the club overcome the ongoing financial crisis.

The Cairo club opened a bank account for supporters' donation last month, in an attempt from chairman Galal Ibrahim to ease the severe lack of funds.

While he had only played for a few minutes so far this season, the 20-year-old Tawfik was quick to show his loyalty to the club's management.

"He told me about his willingness to help the club with EGP 10,000 and I informed the board about it." Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan told FilGoal.com.

"It is a joy to see such an honorable stance from a player who has yet to taste fame and earn the millions of top players.

"I think it is a message for others who have become stars because of Zamalek, yet they are reluctant to pledge their future to the club."

Hassan is clearly referring to defender Mahmoud Fathallah, who has been stalling on signing a new contract with Zamalek of late.
