Zamalek’s dispute with Qatar forward Hussein Yasser over his participation in the Gulf Cup of Nations is officially over after top officials from both sides have met on Thursday.

The 28-year-old joined his national team for the regional competition, which is not included in FIFA’s international agenda, last month.

Yasser’s inclusion in Qatar’s squad infuriated Zamalek, who eventually reached an agreement with the Qatari federation over a financial compensation.

But the money was not delivered on time and Zamalek insisted they would lodge a complaint against their own player to world football governing body FIFA.

However, the Qataris patched things up by paying the crisis-hit Zamalek a sum of $100,000, following a meeting between club chairman Galal Ibrahim and Qatari FA chief Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa, in the presence of Egyptian FA president Samir Zaher.

“Zamalek have received $100,000 from Qatar as a compensation for recalling Yasser to the Gulf cup,” interim Zamalek chairman Ibrahim told FilGoal.com.

Yasser is currently on rehab to treat a shoulder injury that he sustained during the competition in Yemen.

The ex-Manchester City forward is struggling to be fit for the Cairo derby against former club Ahli on December 31st.
