The White Knights reached the cup round of 16 after spanking Obeid 6-0 at Cairo Stadium, avenging their infamous loss at the lower division side in the same competition two years ago.

Kone, whose abilities were frequently questioned by pundits over the past months, hit a treble that helped him regain self-confidence.

"I'm ecstatic over the three goals I netted, especially that I didn't get my name on the score sheet in a long time," the Ivorian striker said.

"I haven't fulfilled my full potential with Zamalek yet. I hope I do so soon. I just need some time to adapt and hit top form."

Zamalek's summer arrival Kone, who joined the Cairo outfit from Military Production, has only scored one league goal against Harras Hodoud so far this season.

He ended his goal drought when he bagged the hat-trick against Obeid in the Egyptian Cup.
