Mido will have a meeting with Ajax boss Franck de Boer after the holidays to learn about his squad status with the team, according to Dutch De Telegraaf.
Mido has yet to play a single minute under new boss De Boer, who seems to be considering the Egyptian a fourth-choice striker.
“We will talk after returning from the holiday on January 4th. But I want to stay because of the fans,” said the 27-year-old.
The Dutch paper claims that Mido, who hasn’t played for Egypt in several months, had approached by Liga duo Deportivo Lacuruna and Espanyol, but the offers weren’t ‘financially attractive’.
Ajax, currently fourth in the Eredivisie, play their next game against Feyenoord on the 19th of January.
