Zamalek are topping the league table with 31 points, six ahead of defending champions Ahli who are in fourth place.

High-profile tactician Jose believes the Red Devils still have a chance to close the gap on their arch-rivals.

"Zamalek have six points. OK, I'm going to say to the other clubs catch Shikabala and it's going to be more easy for us," Jose said in a lengthy interview on Ahli TV.

Shikabala is widely deemed the best player in Egypt in 2010.

He put in a string of scintillating performances this term to help Zamalek secure the lead.

What's more, the 24-year-old is currently the league leading scorer with a nine-goal tally.
