Prince Ali Bin Al-Hussain of Jordan has been elected vice-president of FIFA, replacing South Korea’s Chung Mong-Joon.

Ali, the brother of Jordan King Abdullah, won the vote 25-20 against Chung, who has been at the post for 16 years.

“I’m running because I want to see Asia take its rightful place in the FIFA family,” Ali said.

“I’m running because it’s time for change to run as one continent united.”

Ali’s victory makes him one of eight FIFA vice-president to Swiss chief Sepp Blatter.
