Massive demonstrations broke out in Egypt on January 25th and lasted for 18 days, forcing president Hosni Mubarak to step down.

Arko said he had refused to leave because he loves Egypt and felt compelled to sit tight.

"I love Egypt, I found no reason for me to depart in that critical phase," the Ghanaian ace told FilGoal.com.

"It was a debt I have to pay."

Arko, who joined Gaish in 2007, has scored three goals in the Egyptian Premier League so far this season.
