South Africa turned down Egypt's request to put off both sides' 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The Pharaohs visit Group G leaders South Africa, aiming for at least one point to improve their qualification hopes.

The match is scheduled for March 24th but Egypt asked to postpone it by around three months, citing the Egyptian Premier League stoppage.

But loud and clear was the Bafana Bafana's refusal to accept the suggestion.

"In matters like these, Fifa and CAF do not usually postpone matches," said Morio Sanyane, communications director of South African Football Association (Safa).

"They usually take matches like these to neutral venues if the home team is unable to meet guarantees around security."

Egypt's assistant coach Hamada Sedki had previously told FilGoal.com that his team 'must have suffered a dip in form after the league was halted'.

All sports competitions were indefinitely stopped in Egypt after demonstrations broke out and turned into a full-scale revolt that overthrew former president Hosni Mubarak.
