It was said that one of the club's security personnel had stopped the attacker and suffered a 4cm (1.5in) stab wound in the process.

The incident took place last Friday at La Coruna in Galicia, northern Spain. It was only reported by Cadena Ser a week later.

According to the news channel, the security man realized he was stabbed only when he got on the team's bus.
