Egypt goalie Essam Al-Hadari produced a number of saves to keep a clean sheet and help Merreikh beat bitter rivals Hilal 1-0 in the Sudanese league on Friday.
The match was held behind closed doors after the Sudan Football Association (SFA) sanctioned both teams.
Zambian player Jonas Sakuwaha hit the winner in the dying minutes to seal the narrow victory.
Merreikh, who are managed by former Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri, are on top of the league table with six points while Hilal lie sixth on three.
