Ahli coach Manuel Jose believes his side could have beat SuperSport United by more than a two-goal margin if it wasn't for the squandered chances, saying Dominique Da Silva was anxious.

A strike partnership consisting of Osama Hosni and winter arrival Dominique proved to be potent, with both players netting one goal apiece to give the Red Devils a 2-0 win.

The Mauritanian marksman, however, spurned some scoring opportunities before he scored on his competitive debut.

"We could have won the game by a larger margin but the players wasted quite some scoring opportunities, especially Dominique," Jose told the post-match press conference.

"He's a young man and a good player. His nervousness reflected on the match because it's his first time to feature for Ahli before the red fans."

Jose's Value

On the other hand, Dominique revealed he was edgy because of his manager.

"I didn't put in one of my finest performances, and the reason for that is Jose," the 21-year-old told FilGoal.com.

"For me Jose's value is huge, as a coach and as a person as well. I was nervous because I wanted to satisfy him so badly.

"I will be more confident in the next games."

Tough opponents

Speaking of the game, Jose said: "The result is reassuring; SuperSport are tough opponents unlike what was said about them before.

"They played many competitive matches during the Egyptian Premier League stoppage, that's why they were more ready for the game than we were.

"But after all we pulled off a good result."
