The earth-shattering offshore quake struck Japan on March 11 and resulted in thousands of deaths and unimaginable devastation in the country.

The length of the league hiatus remained unknown till representatives from the 38 top-flight clubs held a meeting, in which they agreed on the resumption date.

Clubs located in Sendai, Kashima and Mito will play home matches in alleviative venues as their stadiums are being repaired.
