"An agent arrived in Cairo but did not reveal the identity of the German side who are interested in the player," Ashraf Sobhi told FilGoal.com.

"He wants to get confirmation that Zamalek will consider selling Shikabala before unveiling the German side's name. The details of the offer are also unknown.

"We will be meeting with the coaching staff to know their take on the bid."

Shikabala, whose contract with Zamalek runs out in January, is to be entitled to sign for any other outfit next summer.

Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan has always been resolute in his refusal to let Shikabala go.

The 25-year-old forward was approached by a number of European outfits beforehand, including Anderlecht and Standard Liege.

On more than one occasion Anderlecht seemed to be close to landing the Egypt international, only for the Whites to back out of the deal.
