Zamalek’s injured star Amr Zaki featured for Harras Hodoud in a friendly game as part of his rehabilitation program.

The Egypt striker, who is nursing a nagging knee injury, was allowed to join Hodoud’s training after his club had flied to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to participate in an exhibition game with Ittifaq.

However, Zaki discovered that Tarek Al-Ashri’s side have a friendly against Hilal of Sudan on Wednesday night, which prompted him to request taking part in the game.

Despite missing a penalty in the 1-1 draw, the Bulldozer was satisfied with his performance during the 45 minutes he played.

“I had a fine game. I think I was one of the best players in the game and I want to thank the Hodoud management for their hospitality,” Zaki told FilGoal.com.

Hodoud, who usually train in Cairo, are open to temporarily having players from rival clubs in their team for various reasons.

Egypt keeper Essam Al-Hadari trained with the Alexandrian side during his row with the Zamalek management last year as Ismaili’s Omar Gamal spent part of his rehab there as well.
