The 27-year-old rescinded his Ajax contract by the end of 2010 to re-join old club Zamalek on a free transfer in January.
The Amsterdammers pulled off a final-day 3-1 victory over holders Twente to clinch the title, while Mido is unlikely to play for Zamalek this term due to a registration error.
However, the Egypt international was left with something to cheer about after watching his former club win the league.
“I am very happy because I returned to Ajax after a long time and managed to contribute to this league victory,” Mido told FilGoal.com.
“What adds to my joy is that Ajax’s victory came in the same season where Mohamed Zidan has won the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund and this is something for all Egyptians.”
Egypt forward Zidan claimed the Bundesliga medal with Dortmund this week, even though he hardly played for the German side this term.
Mido, on the other hand, played five games with Ajax, starting once and scoring two goals in the process.
