Beleaguered Ittihad failed to move from the bottom of the league table, where they have been languishing for quite a while, as the Alexandrian side played out a goalless draw at home with Gouna Monday.

Gouna remain in 12th place with 23 points while Ittihad, who seem to be bound to be relegated, are on 16 points.

The hosts' top scorer Edet Otobong squandered a penalty kick as keeper Mohamed Abdul-Monsef rose to prominence to block his effort in the first half.

A victory would have lifted Ittihad to 15th spot.

The kickoff of the game was delayed for a few minutes after several Ittihad spectators tried to invade the pitch. Security personnel contained the situation.

Elsewhere, Harras Hodoud failed to capitalize on their home advantage and drew with Gaish 1-1.

Mohamed Hamed fired Hodoud ahead but Yassin Abdul-Aal restored parity and ended the match in a stalemate.

Gaish and Hodoud lie 10th and 11th in the league table, both with 24 points.
