Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan hit out at referee Medhat Abdul-Aziz, who officiated the Whites's 3-2 win over Arab Contractors Saturday, for giving the latter team a penalty kick.

Contractors' Mohamed Al-Nenni, who hit a brace in the match, converted the spot kick that Musa Kabiru earned after Zamalek defender Amr Al-Safti brought him down in the area.

Hassan said after the match: "The referee surprised me with his decision against us especially that this kind of challenges doesn't result in penalties in the Egyptian Premier League.

"But after all we managed to win the game, thanks to the players' enthusiasm. They all followed the instructions of the coaching staff."

Leaders Zamalek are now three points clear of title holders and arch rivals Ahli, who lie second on 43 points.
