Merreikh president Gamal Al-Wali voiced dissatisfaction over the sudden departure of Hossam Al-Badri, who resigned as coach on Friday.

"We haven't received an official resignation from Al-Badri yet," Al-Wali told the Sudanese outfit's official website.

"He needs to be responsible for his resignation and pay us the buy-out clause, especially that we provided him with an appropriate work environment."

Sources inside Merreikh said the former Ahli boss parted company with the former club due to financial disagreements.

Al-Badri took charge of Merreikh in December after leaving Cairo giants Ahli.

Under his management, Merreikh topped the Sudanese League table with 36 points, having registered 12 victories and slumped to only one loss.

Merreikh is also where Egypt goalie Essam Al-Hadari – another ex-Ahli man – is plying his trade.
