The 28-year-old striker has been ineligible to play since re-joining Zamalek in January due to a registration error as he seemed to have gained weight during the nine-month layoff.

“Mido is still working on a fitness program to regain his physical and technical shape,” Zamalek assistant coach Ismail Youssef told FilGoal.com.

“We are looking forward to having him fit as he is an important part of the team. He might be available for the cup final should we advance.”

Meanwhile, Mido featured in a friendly game against third-division Al-Amiria on Thursday, with Zamalek coasting to an easy 4-1 victory.

Alaa Ali scored twice for the Whites as Hossam Arafat and Ahmed Samir added two more.
