Zamalek midfielder Ahmed Hassan will miss his side’s round of 64 Champions League fixture at Tanzanian side Young Africans due to travelling to Saudi Arabia for ‘Umrah’.

The 36-year-old, who announced earlier that he contemplated hanging up his boots following the Port-Said disaster, skived off training a week ago citing at the time ‘poor morale and lack of concentration’.

“I will fly tomorrow to perform ‘Umrah’ where I will be spending four days there, that’s why I wouldn’t be able to play against Young Africans,” Hassan told FilGoal.com.

“It is a good chance for me to find some quietude and self-tranquility.”

Zamalek, who are the only Egyptian team in the Champions League preliminary round, take on the Tanzanian champions on 18 February in Dar es Salam.
