Belgian side Lierse announced the news after the 26-year-old had injured himself in training last week.

Farag played 17 games for Egypt since making his international debut in 2008 as he received most of his call-ups during the reign former manager Hassan Shehata.

The former Ahli and Ismaili defender played in Egypt’s last friendly game in Oman, in what was his only appearance under manager Bob Bradley.
