Amr Zaki has been released by ENPPI only 12 days after signing a contract with his old club.

The Egypt international, who terminated his contract with Turkey’s Elazigspor in the winter break, signed for ENPPI on a free transfer this month.

However, Zaki claims that a ‘disagreement’ forced him to quit the Cairo club, whom he labeled as his ‘old home’ before signing.

Disrespect

“The reason? Disrespect. There was an agreement on certain things with ENPPI but then the club did not fulfill it,” Zaki told FilGoal.com.

“Out of respect to ENPPI, I will not reveal further details.

“I am not a young player and ENPPI is not a small club, so leaving by mutual consent was the best option for both sides.”

Zaki, who was once Egypt’s top striker, has been far from consistent in recent years, having spent long spells of his time on the sidelines.

The 29-year-old played for Zamalek, Hull City and Elazigspor since 2010 but has hardly been a regular for Egypt during that phase.
