Hull City secured an important 2-1 victory at Ipswich Town as close rivals Watford slumped to defeat.

Despite missing Egypt hitman Geddo through injury, Hull snatched the win with a late winner from skipper Robert Koren.

Robbie Brady scored the opener from the spot before Anthony Wordsworth after half time.

Ahmed Elmohamady played 90 minutes while Ahmed Fathi came on as a 69th minute substitute.

Hull were also boosted as close rivals Watford lost to lowly Peterborough in what could be a massive result for the Tigers.

Hull open a six-point gap with third-placed Watford, with three weeks remaining as Steve Bruce’s men look set for automatic promotion along with leaders Cardiff.
