On April 14 2002, Egypt international Mido hit his only hat-trick in Europe for Ajax against Sparta in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Spearheading the Amsterdammers at the expense of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Mido headed home the opener on 33 minutes following a terrific cross by Tunisia’s Hatem Trabelsi.

In the second half, Ibra came on to set up the Egyptian with two more goals before getting on the scoresheet to complete the rout.
