After a three-week break, the Egyptian Premier League was scheduled to be resumed this weekend, with matches taking place between 20 and 23 June.
However, the FA has announced an indefinite postponement to more than seven games as well as delaying the final playoffs including the top four clubs.
The announcement comes ahead of imminent nationwide protests by the opponents of president Mohamed Morsi, expected to set off on June 30.
The FA’s decision raises major doubts over the future of the domestic season in Egypt, with many believing it is the end of football activity.
