Egyptian striker Amr Zaki is likely to start against DR Congo on Friday in their African Cup of Nations quarter-finals, FilGoal.com learnt on Thursday.

The Egyptian team conducted their last training session on Thursday morning and Zaki looked in a sharp form and almost secured a starting spot alongside Emad Meteb.

Zaki has completely recovered from a leg injury that he sustained during training just before Ivory Coast game in the group stage.

Tottenham striker Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' won't be available for Egypt as the medical team preferred to rest him despite recovering from the pain that forced him out of the game against the Ivories.

Zamalek forward Abdul-Halim Ali, who is yet to participate in the tournament, and Veteran striker Hossam Hassan will be on the bench against Congo.
