Werder Bremen playmaker Johan Micoud insisted that he wanted to return to his native France by the end of the season.

"I am fed up with playing abroad. I want to come back to France," Micoud told RMC on Saturday.

Micoud, who still has a whole year on his contract with Bremen, revealed that he hoped he would be able to persuade the German club’s board to nod his departure in the summer.

"I will talk with the Bremen staff in a few days, in order to negotiate my transfer," he added.

The talented Frenchman also played down rumours linking him with a move back to his former club, Bordeaux, and claimed that he opened discussions with Paris Saint Germain.

"But, for instance, I am not in contact, not with PSG nor Bordeaux. It is journalists' rumours."

The 32-year-old made a move to Bremen coming from Italian club Parma four seasons ago.
