Hilal striker Ahmed Al-Suwaileh is set to join Austrian league leaders Red Bull Salzburg for one year, Saudi paper Al-Riyadh reported on Sunday.

Both clubs agreed to the terms of the contract and the move will be set as soon as Al-Suwaileh passes a medical, the paper added.

Salzburg, who top the local league with 10 points from four matches, didn't post any reports on their official website concerning the move.

If the deal is sealed, Al-Suwaileh will be the first Saudi player ever to play in the UEFA Champions League.

Salzburg are set to play Spanish side Valencia in the third qualification round of the tournament on Wednesday.

Al-Suwaileh would also be the third Saudi player to feature in Europe after veteran striker Sami Al-Jaber who joined English club Wolverhampton Wanderers and Fahd Al Ghashayan’s who had a short spell with Dutch side Alkmaar.
