Masri board cancelled the appointment of Helmi Toulan as the club's new coach after he failed to show up in a meeting with the club officials on Friday.

The Port Said club earlier announced that Toulan will be leading the team as a replacement to Mohamed Salah, who resigned just days before the start of the new season.

It's the second time Toulan snubs Masri after he first rejected to coach the team citing problems with the club board, before holding more talks to take over the club.

Meanwhile, the club board hired former Raja Casablanca Romanian coach Alexander Moldovan as their new boss and the 56-year-old will be assisted by Mohamed 'Mimi' Abdul-Razek, Tarek Al-Sawi and Talaat Al-Seifi as director of football.

Following a 4-0 defeat to Ismaili in the Egyptian League opener, Masri beat Tanta 3-0 at home on Friday to earn their first three points of the new season.
