Premiership side Reading lodge bid for Egypt's Azmi

Egypt international defender Amir Azmi has received a 700,000 Euro offer to join Premier League outfit Reading FC during the winter transfer window, the player revealed on Thursday.

Egypt international defender Amir Azmi has received a 700,000 Euro offer to join Premier League outfit Reading FC during the winter transfer window, the player revealed on Thursday.

Azmi said that Reading made an official approach to acquire his services from his Greek club PAOK Salonika.

“Reading sent an official offer to PAOK,” Azmi told FilGoal.com exclusively. “The offer is worth 700,000 euros and they want me to join them in January.”

The Egyptian international said he was keen on making a switch to the Premiership and hoped the Greek club officials will be supportive of his desire.

“Playing in the Premier League is the dream of any footballer,” said the 23-year-old Azmi.

Azmi has been giving steady performances with his Greek side this season and earned the trust of Serbian coach Momcilo Vukotic.

He has been named in coach Hassan Shehata’s squad for Egypt’s international friendly against South Africa on November 15th.
