Uruguayan forward Alvaro Recoba revealed on Friday that he is likely to leave Inter Milan at the end of season in search of regular first team football.

"Yes, I believe that this will be my last campaign with Inter," Calcio Italia magazine quoted Recoba as saying to Sky Italia.

"I am not happy about it, but I am not 50 yet and my career has not come to an end already."

Recoba joined Inter in 1997 from Uruguayan club Nacional but never had consistency despite being labeled as a massive talent.

Number of injuries and fitness problems had a negative impact on the 31-year-old's career with the Nerazzurri.

"I have tried hard and I would have wanted to leave here by playing regularly and helping the team to win, but I haven’t been able to do that because of my fitness issues."

El Chino played just eight matches in the Serie A this season, a situation that he doesn't like.

"I cannot stay without playing. Appearing in five or 10 matches a year is not enough for me."

"I’m pleased that we are finally at the top of the table and that we can finally win something, but I am not happy for myself because I’m not getting a game," he added.
