Inter Milan had an awful start of their Champions League campaign after slipping to a 1-0 defeat against Fenerbahce on Wednesday in Istanbul.

Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven climbed to the top of Group G the group after beating CSKA Moscow 2-1.

A goal from Deived in the 43rd minute sealed the full points for the Turkish giants who join PSV on top of the group with three points.

Roberto Mancini had to play without the suspended Julio Cruz, Nicolas Burdisso, Ivan Cordoba and Douglas Maicon who are banned from European games after the brawl with Valencia last season.

Marco Materazzi and Cristian Chivu were out with different injuries.

The Italian champions never seemed comfortable on the pitch as the hosts created a lot of chances in the first-half until the Brazilian's half-volley connected with Alex's cross for the winner.

Inter tried to get back into the game in the second-half but they never found the equalizer.

Elsewhere, PSV Eindhoven enjoyed a 2-0 win courtesy to goals from Danko Lazovic and Kenneth Perez in the 59th and 80th minutes respectively.

Brazilian Vagner Love pulled one back one minute from time for the Russians.
