Hossam fined, banned for unauthorized travel

Hossam Hassan has been sanctioned by Ittihad of Alexandria after leaving the squad, that will take on Baladeya on Friday, to play an exhibition match in the United Arab Emirates.

Hossam Hassan has been sanctioned by Ittihad of Alexandria after leaving the squad, that will take on Baladeya on Friday, to play an exhibition match in the United Arab Emirates.

"Hossam has been fined EGP 25 000 and will be submitted to an interrogatory," Ittihad football director Sayed Karawan told FilGoal.com.

The 41-year old striker has been invited for an exhibition match in an international festival in Dubai on Wednesday.

"I knew he was going to UAE but I rejected completely the way he did it especially that he didn't get the board's authorization," said coach Mohamed Salah.

Hassan has been told to stay home as he is banned from this game.

Ittihad are in the 15th place of the Egyptian League table with only four points.
