Hamburg SV announced that Dutchman Martin Jol will be the team's new coach, taking over from his compatriot Huub Stevens.

Stevens is set to leave Mohamed Zidan's team for PSV Eindhoven, who clinched the Eredivisie title for a fourth straight season.

"We are sure that we have appointed the right coach for HSV", HSV chairman Bernd Hoffmann was quoted by the club's official site.

"We are looking forward to working with Martin Jol." added Sport director Dietmar Beiersdorfer.

The Bundesliga side said that Jol will be represented to the press in Hamburg next week.

Jol started last season at Tottenham Hotspur, but he was sacked in October 2007 after a series of poor results with the London club.
